<p>The present invention is directed to a system and method for separating waste material from waste water for use in connection with the flushing of an animal storage pen (20) (such as, for example, a hog barn) to remove waste material from animal storage pen (20) such that the waste water is recycled. The system includes fluid storage assembly (10) for storing a supply of fluid for flushing animal storage pen (20) and solid waste material separation assembly (30) for separating large solid waste material from a waste water mixture flushed from animal storage pen (20). After the large waste material has been separated from the waste water mixture, small waste material separation assembly (50) separates the small waste material from the waste water mixture such that the remaining waste water mixture is substantially free of waste material and pathogens. Waste water return assembly (60) returns waste water from small waste material separation assembly (50) back to fluid storage assembly (10). Solid waste storage assembly (40) collects and stores both the large and small solid waste that have been separated from the waste water mixture.</p> |
