摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a unit for compression-molding arrays for optical elements in a short time at a low cost. SOLUTION: The objective compression-molding unit comprises the first half mold 102 and the second half mold 104 where the second half mold includes the core nest 12 and a plurality of the shapes that are reverse to the prescribed optical surfaces. A glass preform 114 is placed on the core nest 112 and the first half mold, the second half mold, and the glass preform are heated up at least to the glass transition point of the glass preform. Then, the glass preform is compressed between the first half mold and the second half mold to a solid array of the optical elements and individual optical elements become real optical surfaces for a plurality of members. Solidly formed array for the optical element is cooled down lower than the glass transition point and released out of the first half mold and the second half mold.
