PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a latex of an aryl group-containing polyorganosiloxane having a high molecular weight and regulated particle diameters in good productivity. SOLUTION: This method for producing a latex of an aryl group-containing polyorganosiloxane comprises emulsifying and polymerizing a mixture comprising an aryl group-containing linear organosiloxane having a substituent selected from a hydroxy group and an alkoxy group at the terminal, an emulsifier, an acid catalyst and water.
