PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To punch a hole in a sheet even in the case when it is received an instruction for punching from an external device which cannot judge the orientation of the sheet of an image formation device. SOLUTION: A sheet to be used by this device is designated by a sheet size designating means 702 and is judged to be capable of image formation by a sheet judging means 704 for judging whether the size of sheets provided in a body is of size in which an image can be formed, or not. This image formation device is provided with a punching-justice judging means 701 for judging whether a hole can be punched by a punching means 103 or not at a position designated by a punch hole position designating means 703, and a different sheet punching control means 705 for selecting a sheet that is different from a sheet judged to be incapable of punching by the punching justice judging means 701 out of the sheets judged to be capable of image formation by the sheet judging means 704, when the sheet is judged to be incapable of being punched by the punching justice judging means 701, and allowing the hole punching means 103 to punch a hole in the sheet. |
