PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a member by a simple means at a low cost and to produce a member with a complicated shape as well by providing the surface of a metallic substrate with a nickel-tungsten alloy plated film. SOLUTION: The content of tungsten in a nickel-tungsten alloy plated film ordinarily about 5 to 61 wt.%, preferably about 8 to 60 wt.%, and more preferably about 10 to 50 wt.%. The thickness of the nickel-tungsten alloy plated film is different in accordance with the material, the shape of the member, using environment and conditions. It is ordinarily about 1 to 1000μm, and more preferably about 10 to 100μm. In the case a phosphorus reducing agent is used, phosphorus is taken into the plated film to form a nickel-tungsten alloy contg. phosphorous, by which the corrosion resistance and heat resistance of the alloy plated film are improved. The content of phosphorous is desirably <=15 wt.%.
