PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed a sheet-form staple certainly to a drive-in part at the forefront of a feed passage without requiring any particular accuracy about the position of a feed roller. SOLUTION: A motor-driven stapler is structured so that each sheet-form staple (a) in a cartridge 2 is fed from a feed passage 3 to a drive-in part 3a, shaped into a gate form, and driven into a material to be bound, wherein on the side with the feed passage 3, feed rollers 7a and 7b are installed capable of being engaged with the surface of the undermost or uppermost one of the staples (a) fed from the cartridge 2, while a feeding means 8 to feed staples (a) from the cartridge 2 toward the feed passage 3 is installed on the side opposite the feed passage 3, wherein the feed rollers are arranged as capable of separating from the surface of the staple (a), and are separated therefrom when the feeding means 8 makes the feeding motion.
