PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid acid catalyst capable of efficiently removing a malodor and capable of keeping malodor removing capacity over a long period of time by making a compd. containing at least one structure selected from magnesium silicate and aluminum silicate carry fine particles of a transition metal oxide. SOLUTION: A solid acid catalyst is formed by making a compd. containing at least one structure selected from magnesium silicate (2MgO.6SiO2.xH2O) and aluminum silicate (Al3O3.9SiO2.xH2O) carry fine particles of transition metal oxide. The particle size of the fine particles is mainly set to 0.001-1 μm. Further, as a binder, colloidal silica is added. The solid acid catalyst is produced by dispersing particles comprising a compd. containing at least one structure selected from magnesium silicate and aluminum silicate in a solvent under an acidic condition and mixing them with fine particles of a transition metal oxide to prepare a synthetic suspension. |
