PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method for producing steel excellent in the surface and internal qualities by preventing the variation of molten steel surface in the continuous casting. SOLUTION: Electromagnetic stirring devices 8 are oppositely arranged near a meniscus at the long sides of a mold 1 having the cross section of a rectangular shape in the continuous casting equipment. Electromagnetic stirring flow in the width direction to the molten steel in the mold, is given with the electromagnetic device 8 and also, spouting holes 4, 5 of an immersion nozzle 2 are disposed at d position where the magnetic flux density in the spouting holes 4, 5 of the immersion nozzle 2 is <=50% of the max. magnetic flux density in the electromagnetic stirring device 8 to execute the casting. Further, the spouting holes 4, 5 are disposed so that the spouting flow from the immersion nozzle 2 does not cross a range having the magnetic flux density exceeding 50% of the max. magnetic flux density in the electromagnetic stirring device 8 to execute the casting.
