PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily carry in and out a hoist of an elevator by providing a space for permitting the hoist to pass through inside a support apparatus. SOLUTION: Machine beams 4a, 4b are installed on receiving tables 2a, 2b installed on a building beam 7 provided near the floor of a machine room 5 of this elevator. Machine bases 6a, 6b are fitted to the machine beams 4a, 4b, and a hoist 3 is mounted on the machine bases 6a, 6b. The installation positions of machine beams 4a, 4b are such that the size between the beam insides is a little larger than the width dimension of the hoist. The floor of the machine room 5 is provided with a carry-in port 8 for a machine room goods from the hoistway 1, which is closed by a block plate after the elevator is installed. Thus, replacement work for the hoist can be facilitated.
