PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a voice codec function and an audio reproduction function only with one small-sized package of a DSP(digital signal processor). SOLUTION: When the receiving part 13 of a radio part receives and demodulates a transmission signal from a radio base station and decoded data decoded by the decoder 23 of a controlling part 2 is inputted to a control processing circuit part 21, the part 21 detects whether a portable telephone set is in a voice communication state or the other states and stores the current state in a voice communication state flag memory 22. When a display operating part 3 inputs a preliminarily decided input to the part 21, a DSP 41 performs reproduction processing of compressed voice data stored in a data storage memory 44 and outputs a melody to a receiver 48 or a sounder 50 by such a manner that the part 21 transmits a command for melody reproduction processing to the DSP 41 of a voice processing part 4.
