PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure, only when a sample is whole blood by applying the sample of a biological fluid to a sample opening, and starting the measurement, only when a reflecting scattering light first suddenly increases and then decreases. SOLUTION: When a strip inserted to a device 10 for fluid diagnosis shuts irradiation of an LED 40a, a detector 40b senses the shutting and drives an operating device 48 to compress a bag 14. After the bag 14 is compressed, a sample of biological fluid is applied to a sample opening 12. The sample is drawn out to a measurement region 18 by suction, when the bag 14 is opened, and the flow stops at a stop contact 22. The sample is irradiated by an LED 42a. A reflecting scattering light is detected by a detector 42b. The concentration or the like of the sample is measured. At this time, when a blood serum instead of the whole blood sample is applied or such times, the detection light is changed and this generates wrong results. When the whole blood sample is applied, a detection signal is suddenly increased by the first scattered light, and then decreased because of erythrocyte cells pile up. Accordingly, measurement is started only in such a case, thus avoiding wrong measurement. |
