The invention concerns a child car safety seat designed to be mounted on a motor vehicle seat comprising a shell (2) mobile relative to a support frame via an adjustable reclining device including a quick step rotary screw (10) capable of sliding axially relative to a drive shaft (21) polygonal in cross-section. The rear end (10b) of the screw (10) has a notched shoulder (26) integral with the screw and capable in the event of an impact of co-operating with a locking element (30) integral with the shell (2).
