PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range finding method in camera permitting hold down influence by noise and find a range with high accuracy. SOLUTION: At the time of adjusting a camera, a distance to an object is obtained by an arithmetic operation by determining as noise elimination amounts such values N'd, F'd by which a ratio (Ns/Fs) of light receiving signals AF1, AF2 not mixed with noise at prescribed distances are equal to a ratio of the noise components (Nn'/Fn'), storing data presenting the amplification factors Gn, Gf of amplifiers 40, 50 together with the values Nd, Fd for determining the values N'd, F'd, changing the values Nd, Fd respectively considering the amplification factors G, Gn, Gf when the amplification factors of the amplifiers 40, 50 in actual range finding is assumed as G, calculating N'=N-Nd, and F'=F-Fd by using the changed values Nd, Fd, and adopting the values N', F' instead of the values N, F. |
