PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly and simply evaluate the field penetration length to a second kind superconductor of large anisotropy by placing the second kind superconductor in a uniform static magnetic field, impressing an a.c. magnetic field to the second kind superconductor, and measuring the resonance absorption line of an asymmetric powder form, as a response signal of the second kind superconductor. SOLUTION: The temperature of a second kind superconductor 2 is detected by a temperature sensor 9 and kept as a prescribed constant value by a temperature controller 8. An output electromagnetic wave from an a.c. magnetic field generator 5 is irradiated to the second kind superconductor 2 through a resonant circuit 4. The resonance absorption line of an asymmetric powder form as a response signal is inputted to a signal amplifier 6 through the resonant circuit 4. The output of the signal amplifier 6 is fetched into a computer 10 via a signal processor 7 and recorded. The resonance absorption lines, when the temperature of the second kind superconductor 2 is a transition temperature Tc or higher, and Tc or lower are measured and obtained by controlling the temperature controller 8.
