PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to exactly by a change the pitch currently under sound production to a target value by a simple operation by adopting a constitution to execute the control to invalidate the pitch change control in manual operation when an instruction to change the pitch is given and to change the pitch of the musical tones currently under the sound production to a target value. SOLUTION: The control panel of an electronic musical instrument 4 has a keyboard device 41, a pitch bender 42, etc. The pitch can be changed in compliance with the operator's intention according to the manipulated variable of the pitch bender 42. If the pitch of the musical tones under the sound production at the time of a second key touch when for example, a second key is touched while a first key is held touched is assumed to be higher than the pitch (the target pitch) assigned by the second key touch, the pitch of the musical tones under the sound production changes gradually by spending the prescribed change time on the occasion of this second key touch, by which the pitch is gently converged to the target pitch.
