PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of obtaining satisfactory fixing properties. SOLUTION: This fixing device 5 is provided with a fixing roller 51 and a pressure roller 52 disposed rotatably, while maintaining press-contact with each other, and a releasing agent coating device (release agent coating means) 53 for coating the surface of the roller 51 with release agent. In the device 5, recording material is held and carried by a press-contact part formed by the rollers 51 and 52, so that an unfixed image on the recording material is thermally fixed. The device 5 is further provided with a thermistor (temperature detection means) 70 detecting the temperature of the releasing agent, and the fixing condition (fixing temperature, pressuring force between the rollers 51 and 52, fixing speed and paper passing interval and the like) is controlled, according to the temperature of the releasing agent detected by the thermistor 70. |
