PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the limit of an image drawing distance in the depth direction and a transmission light loss by superimposing cut images displayed by the display means of each projection optical path and controlling the display sequence of the cut images alternately and sequentially displayed on each display means. SOLUTION: Devices 4, 5 for displaying cut images are respectively provided to projection optical paths 2, 3 placed in an L-shaped in the x/y axis directions and a half mirror 6 to superimpose cut images from the projection optical paths 2, 3 placed in the x/y axis directions is placed in front of a user 1. Shield shutters 7, 8 are provided between the display device 4 and the half mirror 6 and between the display device 5 and the half mirror 6, respectively. The image forming plane of the display devices 4, 5 can be moved in the X, Y axis directions, respectively. When a three-dimensional object image is cut sequentially in the order of 1st, 2nd,...Nth from the near side, the display device 4 displays the 1st, 3rd,..., (N-1)th cut images and the display device 5 displays the 2nd, 4th,..., N-th cut images. That is, the shield shutters 7, 8 are alternately opened and the user 1 observes the displayed cut images as a stereoscopic image. |
