PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly and precisely detect whether a photographic paper has been transported and arrived. SOLUTION: This image printing device is provided with a transporting means TM for transporting the photographic paper 10 cut into a set print size, a photographic paper detecting sensor 27 for detecting the presence or absence of each of the photographic paper 10 transported by the transporting means TM and a managing means for managing the transporting position of the photographic paper 10 in accordance with the detection information of the photographic paper detecting sensor 27. The photographic paper detecting sensor 27 is constituted to act to detect the set position of the photographic paper 10 in its transporting route. The managing means are constituted to judge that the photographic paper 10 is transported thereto when the photographic paper detecting sensor 27 detects the presence of the photographic paper 10 continuously for the set time or more after detecting the absence of the photographic paper 10 transported at a set speed for the set time or more.
