PURPOSE: A brake device for a handcart is provided to safely move the handcart even on a slope by installing the brake device on both sides of the handcart. CONSTITUTION: A handcart(1) is comprised of a loading unit(2) for loading freight, a frame(3), two wheels(4) and a handle(5) connected to the frame. Herein, the wheels are fixed for a hub(4a) to be rotatable between two brackets(7) fixed on the frame through a rotary shaft(6). A bearing(6) inserted in the hub is installed in the center of the rotary shaft. A male screw(6b) is formed on both ends to be fixed on the bracket by a bolt(8). A brake device is installed on the wheel and the frame of the handcart. The brake device is made up of a wheel disk(10), a brake operator(20) and a brake manipulator(30). The brake operator fixed on the frame performs braking while contacting the wheel disk. Further, the brake manipulator manipulates the brake operator.
