PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semitransmitting reflection plate to be assembled in a semitransmitting reflection type liquid crystal display device so as to obtain a liquid crystal display device having excellent visibility even when a back light is not used, by laminating a metal layer, a layer of a mixture of spherical particles and resin, and a layer of a mixture of planar particles and resin in a specified order on a transparent substrate to constitute the semitransmitting reflection plate. SOLUTION: The semitransmitting reflection plate 4 is produced by laminating a metal layer 2, a layer 3 of a mixture of planar particles and resin, and a layer 3' of a mixture of spherical particles and resin in this order on the upper face of a transparent substrate 1. The transparent substrate 1 has the distribution of the quantity of reflected light with the maximum of the quantity of reflected light at angles of >=5 deg. from the regular reflection. The metal layer 2 generates mirror reflection and the metal used is, for example, aluminum and silver. As for the planar particles, particles having gloss are preferably used. As for the resin, for example, an acrylic resin and urethane resin can be used. |
