The invention concerns a roof system wherein the front panel (3) is coupled to the front slide rail (12) by a first lug (15) integral with the front (17) of the panel (3) and fixed pivotedly at the front of the front slide tail (12), and bears at its rear end (18) a second lug (19) integral with said front panel (3) and housed sliding in a guide slide rail (23) borne by the central panel (4) and opening upwards. Driving means (25) are provided to cause the front slide rail (12) to slide relatively to the intermediate slide rail (14), and the intermediate slide rail (14) relatively to the rear slide rail (13), the first and second lugs (15, 19), the front intermediate and rear slide rails (12, 14, 13) and the guide slide rail (23) being configured to cause the front panel (3) to slide rearwards above the central panel (4).
