The invention relates to a device for focussing light onto an object. Said device comprises at least one light source that is preferably formed by a laser. The inventive device also comprises at least one optical focussing element and a device for fixing the relative position of the focussing element and the object. The light which is sent through the focussing element is present in the form of a radially polarised ring mode.
