Aiding the interpretation of tests for determining the sensitivity of microorganisms to antimicrobial agents, for each of the resistance mechanisms of a predetermined microorganism comprises determining the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values and graphically representing the measured MIC values in adjacent graduated zones relating to the antimicrobial agents. Aiding the interpretation of tests for determining the sensitivity of microorganisms to antimicrobial agents, for each of the resistance mechanisms of a predetermined microorganism, comprises: (a) determining the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of several antimicrobial agents for the microorganism; (b) graphically representing the measured MIC values in adjacent graduated zones relating to the antimicrobial agents; and (c) superimposing graphical representations of statistical MIC ranges corresponding to the antimicrobial agents and the resistance mechanism on the measured MIC representations.
