Integrated sensor/controller assembly and method of manufacturing same

An electronic sensor assembly includes a circuit board (36) having a first generally planar portion (40) upon which at least one sensor component (48) is mounted, and a second generally planar portion (38) upon which at least one signal-processing component (50) is mounted. The first and second portions (40,38) of the circuit board (36) are non-coplanar and, preferably, are perpendicular to one another to thereby facilitate assembly packaging within a given housing, and to improve relative positioning of the sensor components (48) within such a housing with increased reliability and at lower cost. The mounting of all assembly components on a common circuit board advantageously improves assembly reliability and service life. <IMAGE>
