PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To meet the function of an armrest with a good cushioning property, to easily and quickly remove a armrest when it is not used as such, so that it can be easily and quickly converted to other applications such as a pillow or footrest, and to allow easy disassembly. SOLUTION: A hinge bracket 34 is provided at the rear of the armrest frame 32 of an armrest body 30. The hinge bracket 34 is formed with an approximately L-shaped cutout 36. A slit 38 of an L-shaped cross section is formed in the padding and the covering of the armrest body 30 corresponding to the cutout 36 in the hinge bracket 34. The cutout 36 in the hinge bracket 34 is rotatably locked to a shank 22 comprising wire provided on the inner surface of the recess 13 in a seatback 12.
