PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select cells having a foreign gene with a high copy number by labeling the cells incorporated with the foreign gene by the gene recombination and amplified, in accordance with its copy number and using the strength of label of the cells as an index. SOLUTION: This method for selecting cells having a foreign gene with a high copy number by using a new index for a highly reliable selection of cells having the highest specific production rate of an objective protein, is provided by selecting cells by using a cell sorter, etc., by utilizing the strength of a label such as a fluorescence intensity, etc., generated by the cells containing labeled gene [e.g.; dihydrofloate reductase(DHFR)] obtained by performing the labeling of the cells in which the incorporated foreign gene is amplified by >=2 by a fluorescent dyeing method, etc., capable of increasing the fluorescence intensity in accordance with the copy number of a foreign gene in a host cell incorporated with the foreign gene by the gene recombination. |
