PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select compounds that controls the expression of a specific gene by allowing the specimen to come into contact with the cell of which a specific signal transporting route is activated and comparing the detection on the gene expression with the case where they come into no contact. SOLUTION: In the case in which there are a plurality of signal transporting routes that express a specific gene or inhibit the expression in the cell, the compound that can control the signal transport in a specific signal transporting route is screened. In this case, a cell that is invariantly activated its signal transporting routes other than this specific signal transporting route is provided to allow the specimen to come into contact with the cell to detect the expression of a specific gene in this cell and the expression is compared with the case where the specimen is not allowed to contact therewith (the control) whereby the compounds that promotes or inhibits the expression of a specific gene are selected.
