PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new promotor which consists of DNA having a specific base sequence, functions at a stage when a plant fruit develops, and is useful for controlling the keeping quality of a fruit, creating fruits and vegetables having a fruit-enlarging property in a cold season, and producing useful substances and so on. SOLUTION: This is a new promotor which consists of DNA having the specific base sequence shown by formula I or II, is a promotor of a melon ethylene receptor gene which functions at a stage when a plant fruit develops, and is useful for controlling the keeping quality of a fruit, creating fruits and vegetables such as melon, tomato, cucumber, pumpkin, and eggplant having a fruit-enlarging property in a cold season, creating fruits and vegetables which is not too enlarged even in a hot season, and producing useful substances such as medicine and healthy food by a plant fruit and so on. This DNA is obtained by preparing a primer based on the information of the base sequence shown by formula I or II, followed by amplifying by polymerase chain reaction(PCR) using a genome DNA library derived from melon as a template. |
