摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for recovering highly pure styrene through efficient thermal cracking of a styrene copolymer. SOLUTION: A styrene copolymer is heat melted in a supplying device 1 and continuously introduced into a reaction tube 19 of a thermal cracking device 3. The condition inside the reaction tube 19 is oxygen-free and is at a reduced- pressure state. When passing through the tube, the melt styrene copolymer is thermally cracked at from 400 to 600 deg.C to generate styrene. Subsequently, a styrene-containing cracked gas is distilled in a distillation tower 5 at a reduced-pressure state to separate heavy components such as a styrene dimer, trimer, etc. A distillate from the distillation tower 5 is further distilled in a distillation tower 10 at a reduced-pressure state to separate components having lower boiling points than that of styrene. Finally, highly pure styrene is recovered in a recovery tank 13.</p>
