PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing a twisted string like article increasing the production speed and the volume of production of the articles and the twisted string like article. SOLUTION: In this apparatus for producing a twisted string like article comprises a tape holder 3 located on one side of a base 1 to retain a supply roll of a raw type 2 in the tape supply direction, a wind up drum 4 enabling a winding position of the twisted string like article 10 to be movable and located on the other side of the base 1 and a string guide 9 located between the tape holder 3 and the wind up drum 4 and turning around periphery of the wind up drum, the tape holder 3 is arranged as variable in the tape supply direction and also in twisting pitch and twisting turn, and the string guide 9 is constructed of a tube in which the twisted string is passable or constructed of a gutter guiding the twisted string in a groove. Thus, the twisted string like article is obtained by coating a chemical on the raw tape just before twisting using the producing apparatus.
