PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a consumption amount of dry air, nitrogen or the like by enhancing an energy efficiency by reducing an exhaust amount as much as possible while holding a gas concentration less than a burning range and an odor less than a reference value in the case of polymerization curing a plastic lens. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a plastic lens comprises the steps of oppositely disposing two glass molds, pouring a raw material monomer in a plastic lens manufacturing casting mold constituted by fixing peripheries of the two molds by a sealing member, and polymerization curing the monomer. The method further comprises the steps of sensing a gas concentration in an atmosphere in the curing, and regulating an exhaust amount.
