PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an abrasion resistant member which can cut manufacturing costs, compared with a case where a conventional nitrided steel is used. SOLUTION: A base metal portion is cast using a spheroidal graphite cast iron FCD 600 of high strength. Then, a first layer 11 is formed to a portion which requires an abrasion resistance on the surface of a casting product by performing clad welding at a degree of 1.5-3.5 mm thickness with a Ni alloy (Ni: 50-95 wt.%). A second layer 12 is formed on the first layer 11 by performing clad welding at a degree of 1.5-3 mm thickness with a carbon steel of 0.3% or less carbon volume. A third layer 13 is formed on the second layer 12 by performing clad welding at the degree of 1.5-3 mm thickness with a surface nitriding steel SACM 645. The formed member of the third layer 13 is normalized, and then the surface of the third layer 13 is finished by machine processing. Thereafter, it is accommodated in a gas nitriding furnace and is gas-nitrided in an ammonium atmosphere.
