<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of components required for a release mechanism of a guide member and cost, by releasing locking by a locking means by moving a guide member for guiding sheets against an energizing means in a sheet material conveying device. SOLUTION: Sheet materials in a paper feeding cassette are fed one by one by a paper feeding means, and pass through a pair of conveying rollers 3, 4 and a pair of resist rollers 5. When a jamming occurs at the pair of resist rollers 5 or the pair of conveying rollers 3, 4, an oscillating guide 20 as a guide member is brought up and nip release is performed for a jamming process. This oscillating guide 20 is supported oscillatably about a fulcrum 20a at its one end, and a locking portion 20b provided for the other end is locked to stoppers 18 as a locking means having a slit 18a that are provided for both right and left side plates 28 of a device body frame. For releasing this locking, the oscillating guide 20 is pulled in the A direction to separate the locking portion 20b from the stoppers 18.</p> |
