PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing an electrolyte of low water content, without requiring changes in the design of a battery or an adsorbent recovery/ separation process and increasing free acid. SOLUTION: A method for preparing an electrolyte for a lithium battery by dissolving lithium salt in a carbonate solvent, comprises the steps of (a) bringing a carbonate solvent into contact with a dry gas at a temperature of 10-80 deg.C under a pressure of 10-500 mmHg, thereby reducing a moisture content in the solvent down to 2 ppm or less, and subsequently (b) dissolving at least one lithium salt selected from among a group consisting of LiPF6, LiClO4, LiBF4, LiAsF6, LiCF3SO3, LiN(CF3SO2)2 and LiN(C2F5SO2)2 in the carbonate solvent produced in the step (a). |
