PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a negative type image recording material capable of directly fielding a printing plate from digital data using an IR laser, having high sensitivity to laser light and excellent in shelf stability. SOLUTION: An acid crosslinkable layer containing a compound which generates an acid under light or heat and a compound which is crosslinked by the generated acid and having its alkali solubility lowered by crosslinking and a heat fusible layer containing an ink repellent binder and hydrophobic particles and forming a hydrophobic surface by the fusion of at least one of the above components under heat are successively disposed on a substrate. An IR absorber is preferably contained in the acid crosslinkable layer and/or the heat fusible layer from the viewpoint of the enhancement of sensitivity. |
