PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the discoloration of a reflector by optical thermal deterioration by using, between a transparent polymer film and a silver thin film layer, titanium present in quadrivalent state and having a distorted octahedral coordination structure similar to rutile or anatase. SOLUTION: This reflector is formed of a transparent polymer film 10, titanium 20, and a silver thin film layer 30, and has a reflecting surface on the transparent polymer film 10 side. The reflectance measured from the transparent polymer film 10 side is 90% or more, and the titanium 20 is present in quadrivalent state, and has a distorted octahedral coordination structure similar to rutile or anatase. For the optical characteristic of the film 10, the light transmittance in wavelength 550 nm is preferably 80% or more. The silver thin film layer 30 preferably has a thickness of 70 nm-300 nm. For the formation of the titanium 20, vacuum film formation method is preferably used. The adhesion quantity of the titanium 20 is preferably 5×10-14 atom/cm2-1×1016 atom/cm2.
