PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve display of high accuracy and high density in a flat display device, and to lower the driving power, namely, the consumption power. SOLUTION: A first and a second substrates 1, 2 are arranged opposite to each other, and the first substrate 1 is formed with a discharge maintaining electrode group 5 formed of plural discharge maintaining electrodes 3, 4, and the second substrate 2 is formed with an address electrode group 1 formed of plural separators 9 and plural address electrodes 10 arranged with the required interval from each other. The address electrodes 10 are formed on at least one side surface of the separator 9 except for the top of the separator 9 or are formed inside of the separator 9, so that one edge faces to at least one side surface of the separator or positions near the side surface, and plasma discharge display by negative electrode glow discharge is made. |
