PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp lighting device equipped with a mechanism to keep the shape of an induction coil, capable of transmitting the high frequency electromagnetic field produced by the induction coil effectively to a bulb. SOLUTION: An induction coil 3 is installed between a bulb 2 and a holding means 4, the bulb 2 and induction coil 3 are approached and the shape of the coil 3 is kept from its outside by the holding means 4.
