PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input device which does not need a complicated mechanical mechanism making an optical system move, does not have to take long time to photograph an object, also can use a conventional industrial came and can obtain highly detailed image information. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a compound image pickup device 1 composed by parallelly arranging a plurality of one-dimensional image pick elements 17 where many pixels 1a are linearly arranged in a direction crossing orthogonally with the array direction of the pixels 1a and an image formation optical means 2 which is arranged in front of the device 1, expands one prescribed point of an object 3 in a direction crossing orthogonally with the array direction the pixels 1a of the elements 17 and forms the image of the point, an optical element 13 also exists at the image formation position of the means 2, and the aperture position of the element 13 is made different in each pixel 1a of a pixel column of the device 1 in a direction crossing orthogonally with the array direction of the pixels 1a of the elements 17.
