PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the poor oscillation of an oscillation circuit if discharge occurs in the same cathode at the termination of a fluorescent lamp, shorten a preheating completion time and improve the flashing life of the fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: This fluorescent lamp 10 includes closed loop circuits 21a, 21b in which bypass capacitors 22 are connected in parallel to electrodes 11a, 11b in view from the side of a transformer 16. In either of the closed loop circuits 21a, 21b, a current limiting capacitor 23 is connected in series to each of the electrodes 11a, 11b in view from the side of the transformer 16. Therefore, abrupt discharge energy is efficiently absorbed in abnormal discharge by the bypass capacitors 22. A peak value for a filament current is increased without increasing the output voltage of a filament winding. |
