WIDE FIELD ANGLE DISPLAY WITH AUTOMATIC COMPENSATION MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save manpower of a compensating work of distortion appearing on a picture projected on a screen in a display with wide field angle. SOLUTION: In a picture display device with high feeling of absorption to project an actually photographed video image or an interactive CG image on a screen 1 with wide field angle a rugged surface of which is directed toward a testee, a camera 4 to fetch a test pattern projected on the screen 1 from a viewpoint of the testee is provided and a map for compensating distortion to dissolve the distortion to be generated on the image to be observed from the testee based on the image fetched by the camera 4. The image of a projector 2 can also be enlarged, extended and projected on the screen 1 by using a convex mirror 3. In addition, it is preferable to provide a camera 6 to pick up the image of the testee from an upper direction of the testee, to calculate mutual positional relation between the testee and the screen 1 by the picked up image of the testee and to dynamically execute distortion compensation optimal for the testee.
