PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generator for driving an internal combustion engine which enables efficient cooling of a coil of the generator, without making the engine structure complicated. SOLUTION: An oil passage 18 for supplying oil for cooling is provided in the axial part of a crankshaft 2 of an internal combustion engine, and an oil injection hole 17 directed to a generator coil 15 through the space between the base wall part of a flywheel and an armature core 14 is provided in a state in which a boss part 5 of the flywheel is pierced. The oil passage 18 is made to communicate with the oil injection hole 17 through an oil lead-out hole 19b provided in the crankshaft and through an oil groove 19a provided in the outer periphery of the crankshaft 2, and the oil for cooling supplied through the oil passage is jetted to the generator coil 15 from the oil injection hole 17 to cool the generator coil.
