PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric resonator, which can be miniaturized more on the condition of the same frequency to be used, for flexing vibration. SOLUTION: An internal electrode 13 is sandwiched between two layers of square-shaped ceramic piezoelectric substrates 12, and further, surface electrodes 14 are formed over the entire front and rear principle planes of the piezoelectric substrates 12. To both the piezoelectric substrates 12, polarizing treatment is applied vertically to the principle planes and polarizing treatment is applied mutually oppositely with the internal electrode 13 sandwiched inbetween. When a signal voltage is applied between these surface electrodes 14, a piezoelectric resonator 11 is flexed and deformed, so that one principle plane side becomes projected and the other principle plane becomes recessed.
