PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music box which derives sounds of better echoes and better quality and is compact. SOLUTION: The music box 10 consists of a casing 16 and a sound producing mechanism 12 placed thereon. The casing 16 consists of a soundboard 20, side plates 22 and a bottom plate 24. The soundboard 20 is supported at the top ends of the side plates 22. The bottom plate 24 is mounted at the bottom ends of the side plates 22. The sound producing mechanism 12 is placed in the central part of the front surface of the soundboard 20. The casing 16 further has a supporting plate 32 interposed between the soundboard 20 and the bottom plate 24. The top end of the supporting plate 32 supports the rear surface of the soundboard 20 so as to hold the soundboard 20 between itself and the sound producing mechanism 12. The bottom plate 24 is mounted at the bottom end of the supporting plate 32 as well.
