METHOD FOR HARDENING AT LEAST ONE SURFACE OF A COMPONENT WALL AND A DEVICE FOR CARRYING OUT SAID METHOD

The invention relates to a method for hardening at least one surface (S, L) of the wall (W) of a component (T). According to said method: the surface (S, L) to be hardened is heated inductively, using at least one inductor (2); a gap (P) which exists between said surface (S, L) to be hardened and the inductor (2) is filled with liquid during the heating of the surface (S, L) to be hardened; the side (AS) of the wall (W) which lies opposite the side (IS) of the wall (W) provided with the surfaces (S, L) to be hardened, is impinged upon by liquid during the heating of the surface (S, L) to be hardened; and at least one jet of liquid (KI) is directed onto a zone (RZ) of the wall (W) which adjoins the surface (S, L) to be hardened and which is to be excluded from being heated by the inductor (2). The inventive method enables the hardening, adapted to prevailing requirements, of at least one surface, even on walls of components with a complex construction and reduced wall thickness.
