PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shrinking and attaching method of superior workability and reliability for a normal temperature shrinkable rubber reinforcement insulating cylinder, etc., which is used for the insulation reinforcement of a power cable joint. SOLUTION: A normal temperature shrinkable rubber reinforcement insulating cylinder 1, which is held in an expanded state on the outer circumference of a spiral expanded diameter holding cylinder 2 composed of a string-shaped element 2a, wound into a spiral is put onto the outer circumference of a cable joint treatment part 3 and the spiral expanded diameter holding cylinder 2 is decomposed and removed by drawing out the string-shaped element 2a from one end 2A of the expanded diameter holding cylinder 2 through the other end 2B. When the reinforcement insulating cylinder 1 is made to shrink and attach to the cable joint treatment part 3 by this method, a cylindrical assisting jig 4 is attached to the inside of the other end 2B of the expanded diameter holding cylinder 2 to prevent the other end 2B of the expanded diameter holding cylinder 2 from early stage collapse. |
