FIBER LENS, METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME, SUB MOUNT FOR LASER DIODE FOR PREVENTING SURGE

PURPOSE: A method of making a fiber lens is provided to have four ground surfaces for focusing an ellipse beam of a laser diode by a circular form. CONSTITUTION: A coating of a fiber is removed, and a rinsing process is carried out except for a core(100) and a clad(102). A result is fixed on a fiber chuck so as to be rotated and polished. A rotation number of the chuck is about 200 to 300 times, and an angle of 20 to 25 degree at polishing is preferable over four surfaces. A result of a previous process is polished finely. An anti-reflection coating surface(108) is formed on a result of a previous process. The anti-reflection coating surface(108) prevents deterioration of a laser diode due to reflection loss and protects a lens from moisture and heat.
