<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus of decomposing an organic substance and a decomposition method for the same capable of completely and surely decomposing garbage and excreta of animal discharged daily by completely decomposing and extinguishing the organic substance at a high speed and maintaining decomposing action of thermophil bacteria for a long time. SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 for decomposing an organic substance comprises a horizontal reaction vessel 12 to which the organic substance Y to be decomposed is charged, a stirring device 16 having a stirring blade capable of being rotated about a horizontal axis provided in the horizontal reaction vessel 12, a heating device for heating the horizontal reaction vessel 12 from outside, a hard granular porous fungus bed 20 charged into the horizontal reaction vessel 12 and having thermophil bacteria implanted thereon and a buffering material 22 charged into the horizontal reaction vessel 12 together with the porous fungus bed 20 and comprising a granular organic substance or organic chips. The interior of the horizontal reaction vessel is forcedly heated to a temperature of 60-85 deg.C by the heater, and at the same time a large number of the granular porous fungus bed 20, the buffering material 22 and the organic substance Y to be decomposed are stirred to be decomposed and extinguished.</p> |
