PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether lubricating oil is sufficient or insufficient by correctly detecting subects in determining an oil surface based on temperature difference. SOLUTION: An air conditioner is provided with a first compressor and a second compressor 12 to conduct two-stage compression freezing cycles. In the second compressor 12, lubricating oil is stored in a casing 30, while a refrigerant is sucked to be compressed and discharged. The second compressor 12 is provided with oil temperature sensors 40a, 40b for detecting temperature of the lubricating oil. In addition, the second compressor 12 is provided with a gas temperature sensor 60 for constantly detecting temperature of discharged cooling medium gas. Quantity of the lubricating oil is determined based on detected temperature of the oil temperature sensors 40a, 40b and the gas temperature sensor 60.
