<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin for printing ink in the synthesizing steps of which no formaldehyde is used and which has a resin viscosity or a mol.wt. as high as that suitable for a resin applied to preparation of inks having a wide range of applications, or to provide a compsn. thereof. SOLUTION: This is a resin or resin compsn. obtd. by subjecting a petroleum resin, an unsatd. carboxylic acid or an anhydride thereof, an aliph. polybasic acid and a polyhydric alcohol to heating for reactions. To be more specific, the resin or resin compsn. is obtd. by performing the thermal reactions using 0.5-20 pts.wt. of an unsatd. carboxylic acid or an anhydride thereof based on 100 pts.wt. of a petroleum resin.</p> |
